Job Purpose:

AKTOR FM is looking for a highly motivated, innovative, business development professional to join our team in Romania. The ideal candidate will have 5-15 years of building relationships in Facilities Management (ideally) or Construction with a proven record of accomplishment. The Business Development Manager is responsible for developing new business opportunities and managing relationships with clients, project managers, designers and brokers.

Position based: Bucharest, Romania

Direct Reporting to: General Manager of AKTOR FM

Principle accountabilities:

• To identify and develop relationships with industry professionals to generate new business opportunities

• Use innovative means to develop new sources of profitable business

• Take complete ownership of developing and delivering exceptional sales

• Generate tenders and relevant document preparation, using the specialist support functions (procurement, HR, QHS etc.) as well as local managers

• Raise the company and business profile by representing the Company at industry events, high level networking and promoting an image of professionalism at all times

• Keep up-to-date with industry developments, maintaining awareness of competitor activity and market trends

• Provide ongoing progress updates on new business development activities and other key indicators to the AKTOR management team

• Ensure that appropriate sign-offs are adhered to when considering new business opportunities

• Maintain records and relevant contract documentation in the support of tenders and re-bids for the Business

• Deal promptly and professionally with all pre-qualifications

• Support re-bids and variations for existing clients


Education, Training & Certifications

• Engineering degree from an accredited institution

• Fluent in English and Romanian (oral and written)

Professional Experience

• Sales/business development experience from a relevant background

• Experience in putting together sales documents of exceptional quality

• Experience in successfully delivering high-level presentations

• Experience in dealing with a range of people including site staff, suppliers and customers


• Driven by targets and comfortable in a high-pressure sales/business development environment

• Strong sense of customer focus

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Detail oriented and methodical in approach

• A dynamic driven individual with a passion for business development, technical mindset, ability to think outside the box and to collaborate with other departments

• Must be able to influence others and build confidence in senior managers through both face-to-face, telephone and written communication

• Self-motivated

• Able to prioritize demands and make decisions under pressure

• Able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, providing support to other areas of the business on occasions, as required

• Be self-sufficient: able to work on your own when needed

• Must be flexible to work outside core office hours from time to time, and to travel if required
